Cathay Pacific will resume direct flights between Hong Kong and Rome from 5 June.
Operating three-times-weekly as a summer seasonal service (5 June to 25 October), the route will mark the carrier’s second direct connection between Hong Kong and Italy following its five-times-weekly service to Milan, which will increase to daily this summer.
The Hong Kong carrier first launched direct flights to Rome in 1986, however flights were suspended in 2020 during the pandemic.
The resumed service will operate on Monday, Thursday and Saturday via Airbus A350-900 aircraft, which include business, premium economy and economy cabins.
Flights will depart Hong Kong at 00:45 and arrive in Rome at 7:50. Meanwhile, flights from the Italian capital will depart at 11:45 and arrive in Hong Kong at 5:20 the following day.
With plans to expand its European network, Cathay will also add new routes to Munich and Brussels in the second half of the year.
