Delta is increasing its presence in Scandinavia with a new route between Copenhagen and Minneapolis-St Paul from May 2025.
The US airline will operate three flights per week on the new route, which comes after Scandinavian airline SAS joined Delta as a member of the SkyTeam alliance at the start of September.
Joe Esposito, Delta’s senior vice president – network planning, said: “This route creates an invaluable connection between two major SkyTeam partner hubs, providing unrivalled connectivity and travel options for customers traveling between Scandinavia and North America.”
Delta’s latest transatlantic route is in addition to the seven new European routes already announced as part of its summer 2025 schedule, which includes the introduction of a Minneapolis-St Paul to Rome service.
The US airline has also announced it will resume flights between Los Angeles and Shanghai in June 2025 for the first time since the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic in early 2020.
Meanwhile SAS launched a service earlier this year between Copenhagen and Atlanta, which is one of Delta’s major hubs. Summer 2025 will also see SAS adding routes between Copenhagen and Seattle and from Oslo to New York JFK.
