MITCHELL — Registration is now open for the Palace City Youth Basketball League, which will begin with practice in November and games in December.
The newly created Palace City Basketball Association’s goal is to make youth basketball opportunities more accessible to children in Mitchell and to align with the Mitchell High School basketball programs.
Practice will take place on Sunday afternoons, starting on Nov. 4. Games will take place starting Dec. 4 and take place twice a month through March 5.
The league is open to boys and girls in grades 2-6 at the cost of $100 per player, with jerseys provided. Registration for both coaches and players is available online at
. The registration deadline is Oct. 28.
An instructional league will also be offered for Mitchell School District first graders, which will allow boys and girls to develop fundamentals and allow them to play in controlled 5-on-5 games alongside the Palace City youth basketball league. The cost is $25 and jerseys will be provided.
